Putin says Russian budget to have surplus in July–September

MOSCOW, Aug 22 (PRIME) -- The Russian budget will be in surplus in July–September, while in 2023, the deficit is expected to meet the plan of 2% of the gross domestic product (GDP), President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday at a meeting on the strategic development and national projects.

"The budget's bottom line is expected to have surplus in July–September. In general in the year, spending is expected to exceed revenue by the planned level of about 2% of the GDP," he said.

According to the president, the Russian economy was among the top five largest in 2022 and eclipsed Germany by the purchasing power parity and volume. Economic growth is stable at 4.9% on the year in April–June.
